My New Road Bike

Another new family member. Introducing the 2007 Specialized Roubaix Comp. I currently own the 2004 Specialized Allez Elite and I had no intention of upgrading. But then I walked in to Village bike and saw this beauty on the shelf. Um, hello. It was on sale too. It is a pricey bike, but I do 90% of my training on the road, so it will get used. Plus I sold my 2004 on eBay for the same price I bought it for. That worked out good.

VB professionally fitted my bike earlier this year and that made a WORLD of difference. However, I was still feeling cramped on the bike. I thought maybe I should be an XL. The first Roubaix was an XL and VB put a lot of time in trying to dial in the fit. But it just wasn't fitting right. So they dropped me back down to a large, and that fit perfectly. The geometry is slightly different than the Allez so although they were the same size, the fit was different.

This bike fits me perfectly now. I am also upgrading from aluminum frame to full carbon. This bike is also a 10 speed versus the 9 speed and it has a compact crank versus a triple. Mother nature has prevented me from riding this so I'm stuck with it hanging in the garage.
