My primary training route is the same route that is used for the 35-mile Barry Roubaix Gravel Road Race. This route is longer and has tougher climbs. It’s also in isolated areas so I don’t have to worry about asshole drivers like this guy:
In addition to riding this route, I also have two mountain bike races that will help with the anaerobic efforts. As the race get’s closer, I’ll probable add some high intensity swimming to prepare the cardio system for the race. I’d also really like to work on my starts. The race starts with a mile of pavement, thus very fast. I’d like to stay to the front of that group without blowing a lung.
