Bike: 15 miles
Run: 6 miles
Results:
17.1 mins on the swim. The course was a little longer than 1/2 mile. Took 4th in my class
1:17:40 on the bike. Took 5th in my class.
1:05:00 on run. Took 9th in my class.
My time was just over 19 minutes faster last year, which was mainly due to the run. The Torn Shirt trail is a tough trail to run. I felt a lot better than during Fort Custer Xterra. I wore a calf sleeve since I was having very bad calf pains. I had zero issues on this run. I used the Zoot CompressRx sleeve. Look goofy, but work awesome. I need to get this run down to 50 minutes.
The bike was uneventful. Normal congestion. I seemed to zone out a lot so I don't think I went the full 110% I'm use too. Maybe this is why my run was better.
My goal during the swim was to go balls out then pace myself. I started in front of the pack and I know I stayed up there because I passed a few people then I didn't see anyone. Once I made the turn I had goggle issues. They fogged up and with the sun in my face, I couldn't spot anything. I was constantly stopping to see where I was at. It was very frustrating.
