What can I say about Stoney Creek? I treated this race as a lower priority, however after my Boyne finish, I need to get some points at Stoney. Regardless, I still experimented with my training schedule the week of the race. I trained hard right up to the day bef  ore the race. Normally I would have a couple of RR days to allow the legs to recover. I'm still not sure if this helped me or hurt me.

I never rode the trail before so I had no idea how long it was nor did I know what to expect. It turned out that the trail was relatively easy compared to the trails thus far into the race season. It was a fun trail, but I don't know if I'd go out of my way to ride it other than for a race. Actually, the trail reminded me of Iceman except without the sand. With all the fire roads, you could put the bike in the big ring and just fly down the hills.

I finally used the right serving size of Heed, which made a huge difference. I really felt my lactate build up took much longer, thus allowing me to push it hard for a longer period of time. I also felt like I could recover quickly. I will say, the last mile was tough for me. Although given my HR zone times, I don't think I pushed it nearly as hard as I did during the Yankee TT. Maybe that was a mental breakdown. Anyways, for me to finish better I REALLY need to work on my muscular endurance. I think my anaerobic endurance is okay, although there is always room for improvement. Here are some pics from that day.
