Swimming Improvement

http://www.lehi-ut.gov/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/aquaticscenterLapSwim.jpgCompleted my 1000 yard swim test today and saw a pretty big improvement in my time.  My last swim test was December 18, 2012, at which time I completed the 1000 yards in 19.25.  This gave me a threshold pace of 1:55 min/100yards.  Today I completed the 1000 yards in 17.98, thus giving me a threshold pace of 1:47 min/mile.

This is really good movement in threshold pace.  With the Alcatraz race, my swim training is up from 14.25 hours to 16 hours (thus far into training season).  This equates to a nice 12% increase in training time.  However, my training distance has increased 18.5%.  I do expect my swim training to slow down a little bit as I start to increase my running time.
