Spin Class

Did 2.25 hours of spin class on Saturday.  The first class is 90 minutes and the second class is 45 minutes.  The instructor for the first class is incredible.  He's a tri-athlete with more energy than he knows what to do with.  He usually teaches all three spin classes in a row.  First class at 7am, second at 8:30am and third class at 9:30.  That's just a lot of spinning.  The second class instructor on Saturday was very weak.  There were only about 6 other people in that class all of which looked very green at spinning.  The instructor was not all that motivating and had horrid music selection.  Techno makes me sick and it seems that's the only music anybody plays at the gym.  The first instructor plays zero techno, which makes his class that much better.

Anyway's, the first 90 minutes was all power intervals (which spin usually is).  He also did some single leg pedaling which is good.  The second class was also power intervals, but her intervals were too short to be effective.  The other people in the class were dying, which is why I thought they were relatively new to spin.  I remember those days all too well.

I thought I'd share my stats from Saturday.

HR zone times:
1.  42.48 (recovery/warm-up/cool down time)
2.  23.64
3.  14.60
4.  44.58
5.  3.40
