I'm having a hard time keeping myself motivated. Got out of work early today, so I jumped on my road bike to complete the exercise scheduled for today. I did both workouts, but I just can't get my HR into Zone 4 or 5 for any significant amount of time. I think my anaerobic endurance is much stronger than my muscular endurance. I thought it was opposite, but my muscles seem to give well before my HR increases past zone 4. Just something else I need to focus on.

ReplyDeleteNice blog. I've been using Friel's "Cyclists Training Bible" for about two years now, but I'm using it for mountain biking. There's enough on your blog and in your spreadsheet that I can see some of the differences between the two plans. In fact, after reading your blog, I ordered a copy of the MTB book.
I'll be doing the XC race at Stony Creek this weekend, but that will probably be my last MTB race for the year. I'll switch over to cyclocross after that.
