Race Time: 1:32:33
Placement: 6/13
YTD Standings: NA
I never rode this trail before and I drove up the morning of the race. I was really treating this as a low priority race, just a race to help clean out the rust in my legs.
It was a VERY nice day, although pushed 90 degrees. I was seriously worried about leg cramps. At registration, they handed out Hammer Heed and Hammer Endurolyte pills (sp?). Never had these before, so I gave them a try.
I don't think I had the right serving size of Heed. At 190 pounds, I may have needed two packets. Same with the pills. I did not have any leg cramps and I actually felt really good through out the race. By good I mean I felt I had better control over my heart rate.
I finished strong, sprinting the last 2 miles. I finished 6th out of 13, but give me another mile and I would have been pushing 4th place. No photographer at this race, so no pictures.
