Iceman 2005 - Let's Try It Again.

Okay, Iceman is here again.  I feel SO confident.  I didn't really race at all this year, but my saddle time increased three fold.

The most important lesson I learned in 2004 was how to start.  No more sprinting, I'll let everyone else sprint.  I'll move of through attrition.

Race went good, never had to stop for a rest.  I did use Acclerade sport drink again (used it 2004 as well).  Still not sure about this drink.  I can't mix it as suggested because it's SO thick.  Having a diluted drink doesn't help. I really need to start researching my nutrition if I want to really get better.

My time was 2 hours and 19 minutes.  Last year I was 2 hours and 41 (?) minutes.  I finished 67th out of 132, which is MUCH better than 113th I did the prior year.  My goal for 2006 is top 20.  I also will starting racing in the MMBA CPS.

Here are some pics from Iceman:

  1. Thinking of doing a tri, but worried about the distance? That is a normal worry of beginner triathletes. Starting with a sprint triathlon can make it more enticing to the beginner triathlete.
